This Privacy Policy explains how ChatSpot Social handles information when you visit or use community.chatspot.space. Contact the team responsible for this community through our Contact page with privacy questions or requests.
This policy covers the community. The main ChatSpot site, ChatSpot Chat, and external services may have their own notices. Where you choose Chat account login, the information exchanged with the community is described below.
Information the community handles
- Account and profile information: your username, display name, email address where provided, password verification data, registration date, account settings, and profile information you supply, such as your date of birth, avatar, cover photo, biography, and interests.
- Content and interactions: posts, photos and other uploads, comments, reactions, group activity, friend or follow relationships, messages, virtual gifts, and associated points records.
- Sign-in and technical information: IP addresses, browser and operating-system information, session identifiers, sign-in times, request and error logs, and security-related activity. Network services also process connection information to deliver and protect the website.
- Support and moderation: information in contact requests, reports, appeals, and communications with the team, together with the content or account records needed to investigate them.
Only provide information you are comfortable sharing. Avoid posting passwords, financial details, identity documents, private addresses, or other sensitive information in profiles, posts, or messages.
Login with your Chat account
If you choose this option, ChatSpot Chat sends the community a signed sign-in confirmation containing your Chat user identifier, account username, display name, and an available profile-picture snapshot, with short-lived security information. The community uses these details to create or locate a linked community account and sign you in. For new accounts, your Chat username becomes your community username where compatible and available. Decorative characters may be normalized for profile URLs, and a suffix may be added to avoid a collision. Your Chat display name is imported separately; no surname is invented.
When you first join through Chat, a valid profile-picture snapshot is saved as your initial community avatar. It is a separate copy, not a continuously synchronized image; later Chat sign-ins do not overwrite your community picture. A missing or invalid snapshot does not prevent signup.
The community does not receive your Chat password through this handoff, and the handoff does not import your Chat message history. A new linked account can initially use an internal placeholder email address rather than your real email. Add and verify an email in community settings if you need email-based account features.
Why information is used
Information is used to create and authenticate accounts; display the profiles and content you choose to share; deliver posts, messages, notifications, and gifts; maintain points records; respond to requests; enforce community rules; investigate abuse; troubleshoot errors; protect accounts; and meet applicable legal obligations.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, these activities may rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and securing the community, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. You can contact us to ask which basis applies to a particular use. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
What other people can see
The community has publicly accessible pages. Public profiles, posts, comments, and other public activity may be viewed by visitors and indexed by search engines. Audience and profile privacy settings affect visibility, but do not prevent recipients or viewers from taking screenshots, downloading content, or sharing copies elsewhere.
Private messages are intended for their participants. They are processed and stored by the community to provide messaging; they should not be treated as end-to-end encrypted communications. Authorized administrators may access relevant records for support, security, moderation, or legal purposes. A recipient can retain or share a message they receive.
Cookies and browser storage
The community uses cookies and similar browser storage for sign-in sessions, security checks, and preferences such as language, appearance, and cookie choices. Blocking essential cookies can prevent login and other features from working. You can manage cookies through your browser and any controls offered by the site.
At the date of this policy, the community's advertising system is disabled and its analytics-code setting is empty. This does not mean that no technical logs or provider cookies exist: hosting, security, and content-delivery services still handle requests. External links or embedded content can involve additional providers and their own cookies or data collection when you interact with them.
Providers and other disclosures
Information is processed by service providers needed to operate the community. These include our hosting infrastructure, Cloudflare for network delivery and protection, and SMTP2GO for email delivery. Email delivery can involve recipient addresses, message contents, and delivery records. Network providers process connection details such as IP addresses and requested resources.
We may disclose relevant information when required by valid legal process, to investigate fraud or abuse, to protect people's safety or rights, or as necessary to resolve a dispute. Information you publish or send is also disclosed to the audience or recipients you select. External websites and services control their own data handling.
Retention and deletion
Account and content records are retained while they support your account and the community features you use. Retention decisions also take into account deletion requests, ongoing support or moderation matters, security investigations, legal obligations, and the time needed to maintain and restore backups. Different records may therefore be retained for different periods; this policy does not promise immediate removal from every system.
You can use available account and content deletion controls, or contact us about a deletion request. Some information may remain in backups or records needed for the reasons above. Copies held by other users, content they have independently shared, and search-engine caches may remain outside our control. Deleting a community account does not by itself delete a separate Chat account.
Your choices and requests
Use your account settings to review profile details, audience preferences, notification choices, active sessions, the available information-download feature, and account deletion. For help, use the Contact page and identify the community account and request. Do not send your password. We may ask for enough information to verify account ownership before disclosing or changing personal information.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to a relevant privacy regulator. These rights may have exceptions. We will assess requests under the applicable law.
Age and safety
Our minimum-age rule is explained in the Terms. If you believe an account belongs to someone below the permitted age, or that a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us with the relevant account link so we can investigate. Do not post a child's personal information publicly.
Security and international processing
The community uses HTTPS and account-access controls, but no online service can guarantee complete security. Use a unique password, protect access to your Chat account if it is linked, and sign out on shared devices. Report suspected unauthorized access through the Contact page.
The community and its providers may process information in countries different from your own. Applicable protections and legal requirements can differ by location. Contact us for information about a particular processing arrangement or any safeguards that apply.
Policy updates
We may revise this policy as the community or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest version. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a change takes effect. For questions, use our Contact page.
